This Post Is Used For Image Alignment

Welcome to image alignment! The best way to demonstrate the ebb and flow of the various image positioning options is to nestle them snuggly among an ocean of words. Grab a paddle and let's get started.

On the topic of alignment, it should be noted that users can choose from the options of None, Left, Right, and Center. In addition, they also get the options of Thumbnail, Medium, Large & Fullsize.

Image Alignment 580x300

The image above happens to be centered.

Image Alignment 150x150The rest of this paragraph is filler for the sake of seeing the text wrap around the 150x150 image, which is left aligned.

As you can see the should be some space above, below, and to the right of the image. The text should not be creeping on the image. Creeping is just not right. Images need breathing room too. Let them speak like you words. Let them do their jobs without any hassle from the text. In about one more sentence here, we'll see that the text moves from the right of the image down below the image in seamless transition. Again, letting the do it's thang. Mission accomplished!

And now for a massively large image. It also has no alignment.

Image Alignment 1200x400

The image above, though 1200px wide, should not overflow the content area. It should remain contained with no visible disruption to the flow of content.

Image Alignment 300x200

And now we're going to shift things to the right align. Again, there should be plenty of room above, below, and to the left of the image. Just look at him there... Hey guy! Way to rock that right side. I don't care what the left aligned image says, you look great. Don't let anyone else tell you differently.

In just a bit here, you should see the text start to wrap below the right aligned image and settle in nicely. There should still be plenty of room and everything should be sitting pretty. Yeah... Just like that. It never felt so good to be right.

And just when you thought we were done, we're going to do them all over again with captions!

Sanitize and Reopen with Wysiwash

2020 has presented unthinkable challenges and obstacles to many aquatic facilities and community spaces. The biggest of which has become the ability to provide a safe environment for people to enjoy their favorite activities, like swimming. Going forward, providing your visitors with assurance that your facility is safe and sanitized regularly will be key. Wysiwash Sanitation Systems are chlorine-based, proven to kill algae, mold, bacteria, and viruses—including the virus that causes COVID-19. Because it’s chlorine, the Wysiwash formula will not affect the chemistry of your swimming pool if run off from sensitization gets into the water.

Wysiwash provides a quick and easy method for sanitizing your whole pool deck—including furniture, railings, and showers—in minutes. Wysiwash is a no mix, no rinse solution that allows you to clean quickly and efficiently so your guests back onto the pool deck. The sanitizing formula comes in a dry, jacketed caplet that is inserted into the Wysiwash sanitation system. The outer, plastic jackets on the caplets allow for slow erosion of the chemical by the water flow, assuring the strength of the sanitizing solution is consistent. Classic Plus Stor-Lane Reel – Store Racing Lane Lines In Style

Racing lane lines are an essential accessory for most swimming pools. They allow facilities to set up for events, segment their pools for multiple activities, and mark off deep ends and areas that may be dangerous for some swimmers. But, depending on the size your pool, pulling lane lines out of the pool and putting them away can be a real chore — especially if you have a high traffic aquatic facility with multiple events. Make your life easier with the new Classic Plus Stor-Lane Reel from Competitor Swim. Continue Reading about Classic Plus Stor-Lane Reel...

EZ-LOCK Pool Floats Keep Swimmers Safe

Swimmer safety is incredibly important for any commercial swimming pool. A combination of rules, procedures, supervision and equipment are the best ways to keep guests safe while they enjoy everything your aquatic facility has to offer. An easy way to partition active safety zones your pool is with Competitor Swim's EZ-LOCK Floats strung on floating pool safety line. This creates a highly visible demarcation, which assists parents and lifeguards in helping children play safely. Providing safe play activities for guest of all ages and abilities is one of the keys to a happy customer base and successful programming.

The easiest place to start marking areas of your swimming pool with EZ-LOCK pool floats are areas that may be hazardous to inexperienced swimmers, like the deep end of the pool. In fact, most states require some demarcation of the deep end with a safety line. Before getting started, you should check your states regulations for guidance. Save on Pool Energy Costs with Acu Drive Variable Frequency Drive

Your swimming pool pump is one of the most vital pieces of equipment at your aquatic facility. Operating like a cardiovascular system, pumps and filters circulate the water in your swimming pool to maintain safe and clean water environment throughout the day. But these pieces of equipment use more electricity than anything else in your facility, often making them inefficient and wasteful. In the era of "green" energy, resource consuming equipment can be a real problem for both your facility and your wallet. As many aquatic facilities are moving toward more eco-friendly practices, manufacturers are making energy-efficient variable frequency drives to allow you to lower your operating costs and reduce electricity consumption. Ready, Set, Go! Start Your Race with Infinity Start System

For competitive swimmers, time is everything. A difference of even 1/100th of a second can determine the winner of a race. Many small and medium-sized facilities rely on manual and hand-held timers and stopwatches for practices and swim meets. While these can be accurate to a point, you can elevate the competitive experience with an automated swim start system such as the Infinity Start System.

The Infinity Start System from Colorado Time Systems is an excellent, entry-level choice for small swimming pools and recreation centers. It consists of a start module with a handle for easy portability, a 40-watt corrosion resistant speaker, a wired microphone with start button, an internal gel-cell battery with 115V charging capability (240V available). A secondary 40-watt speaker can be added to the Infinity along with an additional strobe (sold separately).

The strobe light aids in the accuracy and accessibility of the Infinity Start System. While the horn sound is a highly audible trigger to begin the race, the strobe provides accessibility to athletes that are deaf or heard of hearing.

It's also recommended that coaches and referees using manual stop watches to begin timing with the strobe instead of the horn. In the poor acoustical environment of a swimming pool facility, the sound of the horn will reach ears with a delay, while the speed of light is unaffected by acoustics, humidity, and other environmental factors. Continue Reading about Infinity Start System...

Swim Pace Clocks – Swimmer’s Best Friend

As any competitive swimmer knows, swim pace clocks are an essential piece of equipment for aquatic sports. Swim pace clocks allow a swimmer to monitor their training pace, create a target time that they want to achieve, and repeat swims or intervals. No swim practice is complete without a pace clock because they are key to improved endurance and speed.

When Competitor Swim redesigned their swim pace clocks two years ago, they paid extra attention to visibility and durability. With the best interest of swimmers in mind, Competitor Swim designed their new pace clock faces so the swimmer would be able to easily see the numbers - particularly the quarter numbers - for training, pace, and rest purposes. Quarter numbers on pace clocks are the primary numbers used in competitive swim training and are the most important for competition. Swimmers need easy and quick visibility of the numbers to enhance their training and lead to better times overall. Continue Reading about Swim Pace Clocks...

Advantages of Blue-White Peristaltic Metering Pumps

Today’s commercial swimming pools have a plethora of pumps and heavy machinery in their equipment rooms to ensure efficient maintenance. Chief among this pool equipment are chemical feeders. Properly balanced water chemistry is essential for the health and safety of not only your guests, but also your aquatics facility. In addition to chemical controllers and water testing equipment, you will want to make sure that your pool has the best chemical metering pump.

Chemical metering pumps offered by Blue-White are peristaltic pumps, which use rotary motion to move the fluid through tubing. These kinds of chemical metering pumps are precise and ideal for moving sterile or aggressive chemicals because they limit contamination as the chemical moves through the pump. All peristaltic chemical metering pumps from Blue White are self-priming, even against maximum line pressure. And, by-pass valves are not required since peristaltic pumps cannot experience the vapor lock caused by off-gassing, a common problem for diaphragm pumps.

Off-gassing occurs when liquid chlorine aerated by the action of pumping creates bubbles that transfer to the inner walls of the diaphragmatic pump and valves. This creates an air lock that impedes fluid from flowing through the pump, even if the pump appears to be functioning normally. Peristaltic pumps do not expereince this issue due to their rotary design, which moves the liquid via compression of the tube and the pushing motion of the rollers. WaterLink SpinTouch Lab – Your All-In-One Pool Water Test Kit

The importance of regular and accurate pool water chemistry testing cannot be overstated. Well-balanced swimming pool water chemistry not only ensures the health and safety of your guests, but also the efficiency of your facility’s equipment. However, since field testing for every chemical is time consuming and expensive, many aquatic facilities only regularly test chlorine and pH levels. While the correct balance of these properties makes the pool water safe for swimmers, imbalance of other chemicals in the water can lead to equipment failures, costing your facility more in repairs and replacements. That’s why we recommend the WaterLink SpinTouch Lab from LaMotte Company. This portable water testing system is easy to use and conducts 10 important tests in just 60 seconds. Providing Commercial Swimming Pool Accessibility

Access to swimming pools and aquatic facilities is important for both individuals with low mobility and seniors. Swimming pools provide an optimal environment for low impact exercise and therapy—which is often necessary to the medical health of these individuals. Congress passed the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990 to mandate non-discriminatory policies for disabled individuals in America. ADA swimming pool accessibility requirements were added to the law in 2010 (and revised in 2012) requiring commercial swimming pools to provide a means of safe access to their pools such as ramps and lifts. For more information on the ADA visit www.ada.gov. Continue Reading about Pool Accessibility...

Chemtrol Chemical Controllers – The Universal Remote for Your Pool Equipment Room

Water treatment for commercial swimming pools and spas requires a complex combination of physical and chemical processes, such as chemical treatment, filtration, pumping, heating and water replacement. To properly manage these processes and chemistry and water level of a pool, engineering and pool equipment rooms are often filled with specialized meters, pumps, filters, and units—each doing specialized, individual work. Often, many of these machines will come from different manufacturers and are controlled independently of each other. Taking readings and ensuring all equipment works in-tandem and efficiently can take hours. With Chemtrol PC Programmable and Digital Controllers from Santa Barbara Control Systems, this process can become so much easier. Chemtrol controllers will work with any chemical feeders, filters, pumps, and units on the market work.

Think of the controller as the thermostat in the wall: everything is tied together with the controller acting as the “brain.”

Save Energy with ThermGard Pool Covers

The natural loss of heat accounts for more than 70% of all heat lost from both indoor and outdoor pools. When the air temperature drops below your pools temperature, water evaporates from the surface of the pool theoretically until the water is the same temperature as the air. For heated swimming pools this means that your swimming pool heater will have to be engaged more frequently in order to maintain the desired temperature of the pool. This results in higher consumption of energy as well as higher costs for the aquatic facility.

It only takes 1 BTU to raise 1 pound of water 1 degree, but each pound of 80° water that evaporates from a pool causes a loss of 1048 BTUs of heat energy.

What’s in Your Swimming Pool Water? – Find Out With Palintest Technologies

Anyone who has worked with commercial swimming pools will know the importance of having clean and chemically balanced water. Regular and accurate testing of your pool's water is crucial to maintaining your facility and preventing scale and stain formation, cloudy water, algae growth, and the corrosion of pool surfaces and equipment. But with so many chemicals and tests to be aware of - free and total chlorine, calcium hardness, alkalinity, pH, cyanuric acid to name a few - it can be difficult to know what kind of tool you need. Palintest offers some of the most accurate pool water testing devises thanks to years of engineering and refinement. Palintest calibrates their photometers using certified color standards set by National Physical Laboratory (NPL) standards and Palintest's quality control team prepares certified standards for their products in their own lab.

In the 1950's, Dr. Thomas Palin approached chemist and pharmaceutical wholesaler William & Simpson Ltd. in Newcastle, UK, to manufacture reagent tablets for his new method of testing water. Dr. Palin had developed breakpoint chlorination for water and the DPD colorimetric method for the determination of chlorine. DPD reagent tablets react with chlorine in the water to create that recognizable magenta color, the saturation of which reveals the chlorine levels in the water. This method was so effective that it became the standard determination method throughout the world and is still used today. Continue Reading about Palintest Technologies...

Maxi-Sweep Pool-Fountain Portable Vacuum – A Proven Cleaning Solution

The manually operated, self-sufficient Maxi-Sweep pool and fountain portable vacuum system is an excellent cleaning solution for indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as large fountains. The system does not require use of in-pool cleaning or filtration systems, eliminating approximately two-thirds of an aquatic facility's backwashing requirements through vacuuming. When the in-pool cleaning and filtration system is used to vacuum and clean the pool, thousands of gallons of chemically treated water are wasted, and sent down the drain with hundreds of dollars in utility bills. With Maxi-Sweep portable vacuums, all filtered and cleaned water is returned back into the pool so nothing is wasted. A Maxi-Sweep system is great to have on standby in case of mechanical failures in the pool's in-pool filtration systems. It can also be used to expedite fast pool draining for repairs or acid washing.

The wide path and powerful suction of the Maxi-Sweep allows for easy and efficient pool cleaning. A uniquely designed vacuum cleaning head comes in widths of 30", 36" and 42", complete with wheels for easy gliding across the pool bottom. Maxi-Sweep filters at a rate of 8,000 gallons per hour through a 225 square foot cartridge filter. The Maxi-Sweep comes complete with a hair and lint pot in addition to the filter to catch the debris that collects at the bottom of the pool, and it's all mounted on a light-weight corrosion resistant aluminum cart. Choosing the Right Automatic Pool Cleaner for Your Commercial Swimming Pool

An automatic pool cleaner is a great investment for any commercial swimming pool. These cost-efficient products end up paying for themselves with savings in water, chemicals, energy, and labor. They will also provide your guests with a clean and healthy swimming environment, which is vital to their health and safety. Traditional methods of pool cleaning can miss small debris particles, especially in deeper areas of the pool. It’s also difficult for poolside and manual vacuums to reach all parts of larger commercial pools. Automatic pool cleaners can easily reach all areas of your commercial pool, including the walls and waterline.

Choosing the Right Automatic Pool Cleaner for Your Commercial Swimming Pool
Aqua Products’ automatic pool cleaners feature a 2-micron filer bag that collects dirt and debris you can’t see with the naked eye. A micron is a measurement for microscopic objects and organisms. With a 2-micron filter, an automatic pool cleaner picks up pollen, algae, sand, and dust – things your manual vacuum miss.

Manual pool vacuums require manual labor and rely on the pool’s filtration system, which uses an ineffective amount of water and electricity to clean the pool. However, an automatic pool cleaner requires very little labor and has its own filtering system that pulls water into the robot’s filter bag as it’s running. All this saves you a ton on energy costs and water usage.

Running an automatic pool cleaner will also save on chemical costs by circulating the chemicals already in the pool. Chlorine is a heavy chemical and will sink to the bottom if not regularly circulated. As the automatic cleaner filters the dirt and debris out of the pool, it also mixes the chemical-heavy water at the bottom of the pool with the chemically depleted water at the top. Regular water circulation allows a more accurate read when testing the chemicals in your pool, and is shown, in some cases, to reduce the amount of chemicals used.   Continue Reading about Automatic Pool Cleaners...
